# Work with us

Most of the generators we install in Dallas–Fort Worth reach us through somebody else's
client relationship — a builder mid-project, an agent two weeks from listing, a loan
officer whose borrower asked a question nobody had an answer to. Here is what we do for each
of them, and what we will not do.

## What we bring to a partnership

We are a licensed Texas electrical contractor and an authorized Cummins dealer. In practice
that combination is the thing that matters to a partner: the equipment, the install, the
permit, the inspection and the warranty relationship all sit with one company, so there is no
seam for a problem to fall into six months later.

We do not ask partners to sell anything, and we do not put your client into a pipeline. What
we offer is a straight answer on your timeline that does not come back on you. If you want to
discuss how a working relationship is structured, that is a conversation, not a form.

## Builders and remodelers

The cheapest generator install is the one that happens while the trench is already open.

We work as a subcontractor on the electrical scope or alongside your existing electrician, whichever suits the job. Because we are an authorized Cummins dealer we carry the equipment, the warranty relationship and the commissioning, so a generator does not become a coordination problem for your superintendent.

The scope we get asked for most is not a generator at all — it is the rough-in. Pad, conduit, gas stub and transfer switch installed during the build, with the unit added later. It protects the buyer's option without holding up the certificate of occupancy.

## Real estate agents

The generator on a listing is either an asset or a disclosure problem, and the difference is paperwork.

Before it goes on the market, we can tell you whether an existing generator was permitted, whether it has been maintained, and whether it will start. That is a short visit and it settles a question that otherwise surfaces during the option period at the worst possible time.

For sellers considering adding one, we will give you a straight answer about whether it is worth doing before a sale. Frequently it is not, and we would rather say so than take the job.

## Mortgage and construction lenders

An itemized bid, a license number and a certificate of insurance, without being chased.

Generators are eligible improvements under most construction and renovation loan products, and the thing that stalls them in underwriting is documentation, not eligibility. We issue bids written for submission: equipment, labor and permits separated, contractor license on the letterhead, insurance attached.

If your borrower is deciding between rolling it into the loan and financing it separately, we are happy to price both. We have no stake in which one they pick.

## Electrical contractors

Take the call without taking on generator work.

Plenty of good electricians do not want to carry generator inventory, learn a manufacturer's commissioning procedure or own a warranty relationship for the next five years. That is reasonable. We will take the generator scope as a subcontractor and leave the rest of the job — and the customer relationship — with you.

We also commission and warranty-service units other contractors installed, provided the installation is sound. If it is not, we will tell you what it needs rather than quietly walking away from it.

## The rest of the UTS group

Generator work is one division. If a client needs something adjacent, the sibling companies
share the same ownership and the same standards, and a handoff between them does not become
 your problem to manage.

- [Commercial electrical](https://utselectricpros.com/commercial-electrical) — service upgrades, panels and light industrial work.

- [Where we work](https://utselectricpros.com/service-areas) — the DFW cities we cover, with the permitting rules for each.

## Start a conversation

Tell us what kind of work you have and who your clients are. If we are not the right fit we
will say so on the first call rather than after a site visit.
