Battle short mode
Lets the generator override faults that would normally shut it down. When the load is ventilation, water or refrigeration for livestock, keeping the set running can matter more than protecting the engine from a non-critical fault.
Heavy-duty industrial diesel
A rugged 4-cycle industrial diesel engine that responds quickly to load changes, with fuel stored on site so the operation does not depend on a gas utility.
PowerCommand electronic control
Cummins' self-diagnostic control, so a fault is identified and reported rather than discovered during the next outage.
Flexible exercise mode
Set the weekly exercise to suit the operation, which cuts unnecessary fuel use, emissions and noise between outages.

The loads we size against on a farm
Generator sizing on an agricultural site is decided by motor starting, not by the building footprint. The largest motor that has to start on generator power usually sets the kilowatt figure, so the survey starts with a list of what runs and what must restart automatically after an outage.
Irrigation and water
Pivots, submersible well pumps and booster pumps. These are the hardest starting loads on most properties and often decide the size of the set on their own.
Livestock ventilation and water
Poultry house fans and feed lines, barn ventilation, stock waterers. In a Texas summer these are the loads where minutes matter, which is the case battle short mode exists for.
Dairy and cold storage
Vacuum pumps, milk cooling and refrigeration. Continuous loads that must ride through a multi-day outage rather than restart at the end of it.
Grain handling and drying
Dryers, aeration fans, augers and elevators. Seasonal, but during that season an outage is measured in spoiled crop rather than inconvenience.
Shop, office and residence
Many operations put the house, the shop and the office on the same standby set. That changes the transfer switch arrangement more than it changes the generator.
Single phase or three phase
Rural services are often single phase, while larger irrigation and processing equipment is three phase. We confirm the service and the equipment before anything is ordered, because the alternator is built to that answer.

What is battle short mode?
Battle short mode lets the generator override faults that would normally shut it down. On a farm the load it protects, such as ventilation, water or refrigeration, can be worth more than the engine, so running through a non-critical fault is a deliberate choice. It is a feature Cummins builds into its agricultural standby range.
What sizes do Cummins agricultural standby generators come in?
C60D6 (60kW), C80D6C (80kW), C100D6C (100kW), C125D6D (125kW), C150D6D (150kW), C175D6D (175kW), C200D6D (200kW). All run on diesel with a heavy-duty 4-cycle industrial engine and Cummins PowerCommand electronic control.
What size generator does an irrigation or poultry operation need?
It depends on the largest motor that has to start on generator power and on what has to run at the same time, not on acreage or building size. A single pivot or a large submersible pump can set the size by itself. We list the loads at the survey, confirm whether the service is single or three phase, and size the set against the starting requirement.
Where does the fuel come from?
Diesel is stored on site, which is the reason most agricultural operations choose it: the generator does not depend on the same utility or gas supply that the outage may have taken out. Runtime is a function of the tank arrangement, and we size that against how long the operation needs to keep running unattended.
Why is there no price on these models?
Agricultural standby sets are specified against the operation: the size of the motors being started, the service voltage, the switchgear and the fuel arrangement. We quote the equipment and the installation together after looking at the site, rather than publishing a shelf price that would not survive the survey.
Do you install agricultural generators outside Dallas-Fort Worth?
Installation is Dallas-Fort Worth only, performed under Texas electrical contractor license TECL #40628. The equipment itself can be supplied anywhere in the United States for your own electrician to install.
