13 kW Natural Gas / LP Vapor Air-cooled Extreme cold −40°F Aluminum

The RS13AE is an air-cooled unit in an aluminum enclosure, which is the right build for a residential yard: no radiator loop to service, a smaller pad, and a footprint of 34.1 x 36 x 27.3 inches at 479 lb.

The E suffix is the extreme cold weather package, rated to -40F. In North Texas that is not about surviving a normal winter; it is about the unit actually starting during an event like February 2021, when the outages and the cold arrived together.

It runs on natural gas or LP vapor. On natural gas there is no tank to fill and no runtime limit as long as the utility main holds pressure, which is why it is the default choice on almost every DFW home that already has gas service.

The weekly exercise cycle can crank the engine and run diagnostics without actually starting it, which reduces wear, fuel use and the noise of the exercise run.
